Super Veloce Racing (SVR), recently appointed by Noble Automotive as the official sales and service dealer for the British supercar manufacturer for the UK and Europe, has announced it will be exclusively revealing its latest 225mph supercar at the London Motor Show on Thursday 05 May 2016.

The first race of the second season of the Jaguar Classic Challenge opened in dramatic style with the pair of Julian Thomas and Calum Lockie taking the chequered flag. The season opener at the Donington Historic Festival began in perfect conditions with bright sunshine and a warm track in the morning qualifying. Julian Thomas topped the time sheets in his E-type from Joaquin Folch-Rusinol joining him on the front row and Martin Stretton third fastest, both in E-types.

The 2800CS was replaced by the 3.0 CS and 3.0 CSi in 1971. The engine had been bored out to give a displacement of 2,986 cc (182.2 cu in), and was offered with a 9.0:1 compression ratio, twin carburettors, and 180 horsepower (130 kW) at 6000 revolutions per minute in the 3.0 CS or a 9.5:1 compression ratio, Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection, and 200 horsepower (150 kW) at 5500 revolutions per minute in the 3.0 CSi.

The BMW i3 94Ah replaces the current 60Ah model and has a capacity of 33kWh thanks to the higher storage density of the lithium ion cells. The battery dimensions remain unchanged with more than a 50 per cent range increase in the standard NEDC cycle, this equals a range of 195 miles. The motor propels the BMW i3 from zero to 62mph in just 7.3 seconds (BEV) making the BMW i3 both the sportiest and most efficient electric vehicle in its segment.

With 320 kW (435 hp) and 900 Newton meters (663.8 lb-ft) of torque, the Audi SQ7 TDI is the most powerful diesel SUV on the market. It combines first-class performance with low consumption and maximum dynamics. A number of new technologies work in conjunction to make this possible. “In many fields of technology, the Audi SQ7 TDI is at the head of its class,” said Dr. Stefan Knirsch, Audi Board Member for Technical Development. “Its newly developed V8 engine is the first in the world to use an electric powered compressor. This was made possible by the 48 volt electrical subsystem, which also provides the energy for the electromechanical active roll stabilization. With these innovations, the SQ7 TDI once again demonstrates Vorsprung durch Technik,” said the Audi Board Member.

Special models from the BMW M’s mid-range series with even better performance and radically designed for high-level driving dynamics have enjoyed a lasting tradition at BMW M Division for decades now. The latest example is the BMW M4 GTS, which is limited to 700 units (combined fuel consumption: 8.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 199 g/km). In order to provide formidable proof of this elite sports car’s outstanding performance qualities, BMW M has opted for a particularly spectacular way of drawing the public’s attention: The BMW M4 GTS is to become the official DTM safety car during the 2016 season.

Lamborghini presents its expanded Huracán model range at the 14th Beijing International Motorshow. Three models make their debut in China. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 is the two-wheel drive version of the V10 coupé. Specifically designed and engineered for its rear-wheel drive set-up, the Huracán LP 580-2 combines dynamic new looks with a package for enhanced Lamborghini driving emotion.

The fourth, redeveloped generation of the mid-engine sport coupé has a more striking, athletic and efficient appearance. Just a few weeks after the debut of the new 718 Boxster, the new 718 Cayman is extending the new model series. For the first time, the hard-top is priced below the roadster – in a similar way to the 911 models. 718 Cayman pricing starts at 51,623 euros in Germany, and the 718 Cayman S costs from 64,118 euros, each including VAT and country-specific features.

At the Mercedes-Benz plant Sindelfingen (Germany) series production of the new E-Class has begun. “Around two million cars roll off the production lines at our Mercedes-Benz plants every year. 25 years ago, the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II thrilled professionals and the general public alike when it was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show. The touring car developed for Group A racing on the basis of this sports saloon went on to acquire legendary status. Mercedes-Benz took the first three places in the DTM championship in the 1992 season with this vehicle, which was referred to succinctly as the “Evo II”. Lithium-ion batteries are the untiring driving force behind electric mobility. They deliver their full output on board vehicles for at least ten years. Nevertheless, there always comes a point where a battery makes its last journey and is duly removed from service. But even after completing their automotive stint, there’s still life in these power packs. These batteries are veritable treasure troves of raw materials.
